LOCAL GUSTS OF SE WINDS AROUND 35 KNOTS. IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC TOWARD THE END OF THE DAY AND IN THE REST OF THE ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT GUSTS OF NE WINDS 40-70, IN PLACES UP TO 90 KNOTS. SEA LOCALLY DURING THE NIGHT UP TO 5, MAINLY IN THE OPEN. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

SYNOPSIS

A trough with cold front is approaching the Adriatic from the Northwest and it will be shifting rapidly across the Adriatic southeastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE winds 10-20, in places up to 25, west of Istria S and SW 6-16 knots. In the North Adriatic toward the end of the day NE and N winds strengthening to 18-34, briefly up to 45 knots. Sea increasing to 3-4, locally in the North Adriatic during the night possibly up to 5. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with a risk of a little rain, mainly in the north of the Adriatic. In the North Adriatic in the afternoon and toward the end of the day and in the rest of the Adriatic during the night heavier cloud increase with rain, showers and thunder, along the coast of the northern part with a chance of wind drifted snow. No significant change in air temperatures, but during the night significantly colder.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Moderate to strong SE winds. In the North, then in the rest of the Adriatic strong and gale force, in places briefly up to storm force NE winds, diminishing in the North Adriatic from the middle of the night. Sea slight and moderate, in the North Adriatic and in the open sea briefly up to rough. Mainly cloudy with rain, showers and thunder, in places along the coast with a chance of snow, mainly in the northern and southern part of the Adriatic. Partial clearing is expected in the North Adriatic in the second part of the night and in the greater part of the Central later on.
